Campaign
background
The EU is the first area in
the world with a full set of passenger rights for all modes of transport. After regulations for the four modes of transport (air, rail,
waterborne and bus and coach) have been finalized, European Commission has
officially launched a new integrated EU-wide information campaign, "Your Passenger
Rights at Hand". The campaign raises awareness amongst citizens in
all EU Member States of:
1.
Their
rights as passengers for all modes of public transport
2.
The
different means of redress available to ensure the respect of these rights
3.
The
active role played by the European Commission in developing and defending those
rights.
Eye-catching
posters in airports, ports, bus and train stations across Europe as well as
leaflets and online information in all EU languages have been prepared to
inform millions of passengers travelling around Europe..
In order to inform as many passengers
as possible, European Commission looks to establish collaboration with bloggers
in 28 EU member states to come up with comprehensive article that will help
people to make use of their rights.
